In the classification of aircraft parts, the following concepts and definitions are widely used to describe the condition of parts and assemblies:
NE - (Factory new) - a new part from the manufacturer.
NS - (New surplus) - a new part from the manufacturer's supplier's warehouse
OH - (overhauled) - a part with a full resource after a major overhaul.
REP-(repaired) - repaired part.
SV (serviceable) - a serviceable part that was in use.

In accordance with the regulations of the aviation authorities, all supplied components must be accompanied by the required original documentation confirming their authenticity, traceability and last service/repair history.

Such documents include:
AUTHORIZED RELEASE CERTIFICATE - a document (certificate) certifying compliance with the requirements of regulatory and administrative documents of the aviation authorities of the state of the developer/manufacturer. (EASA FORM 1 for European countries and FAA FORM8120-3 for USA)
CERTIFICATE OF CONFIRMANCE - a document (certificate) of conformity issued by the manufacturer for a standard part, confirming that the part complies with an acceptable standard and indicating its status.
LOG CARD is a form of a part that has a serial number and an assigned resource, which displays information confirming the authenticity and history of the last service / repair.

Currently, there are two types of repair of the main components and assemblies:
Repair - current repair, designed to eliminate the defect of the unit that occurred during operation.
Overhaul - a major overhaul, after which the unit is assigned a full initial resource.
The following types of restrictions are used in the classification of aircraft parts:
OTL - (Operation time limit) - the designated service life, after which the part is removed from service and destroyed.
SLL- (Service Life Limit) - the limited designated service life for the main units affecting flight safety established by the aviation authorities.
OH - (Overhaul) - resource in calendar time or in flight hours, after which the part must undergo a major overhaul.
OS-(On Condition) - a part that does not have a resource and is operated according to its state. Replacement only for defect or wear.

If it is a major overhaul, then you should be prepared for higher costs, as well as a longer period of repair work. Manufacturing plants are focused on the production of new aircraft and the capacity allocated for major and current repairs is extremely small. This leads to huge queues and long repair times. The terms of repair of components and assemblies at factories range from a couple of months to a year.

The overhaul of each unit has a list of works defined by the regulations, a basic cost and deadlines. In the event that previously unannounced malfunctions, unnatural wear and other defects are detected at the fault detection stage, the plant or repair organization issues an additional invoice for payment, based on the scope of restoration work and the list of necessary parts.

The exchange is carried out in a short time, allowing you to save time and avert aircraft downtime. For owners and operators operating only one air pump, this is a real way out.
